The year 2024 has been exciting and full of inspiring stories. At Tambre, where we give names to dreams, we want to share with you those stories of dreams that have motivated us in 2024. Once again, we are grateful for the trust of every woman and couple who have believed in the Tambre team.
With more than 45 years of experience in infertility treatment and specialising in complex cases, Clínica Tambre has been witness to countless stories of bravery and hope, stories that science has helped make come true. Over the years, we have supported couples and single women from all over the world on their journey to parenthood through assisted reproduction, always with a unique human sensitivity that allows us to understand their emotions, their struggles, and in many cases, their greatest joy: the birth of a child.
To end this year with hope, we share some of these moving stories. We are convinced that they will inspire you.
Victoria and Evie
One of our first Ambassadors of 2024 was Victoria, a 41-year-old Londoner who realised her dream of becoming a mother after several unsuccessful treatments in the UK. She embarked on an emotional journey with the support of the clinic, where she found not only high-quality treatments but also the emotional support she needed. After two failed IVF attempts in London, she travelled to Spain and found in Tambre a clinic full of empathy, outstanding professionals, and deep respect, which allowed her to fulfil her dream: to become Evie’s mother.
Nicola’s Challenges
From the beginning, our most travelled patient, Nicola, faced many challenges on her path to motherhood. For ten years, she tried unsuccessfully to become a mother. With the help of the Tambre team and a personalised IVF treatment, at the age of 48, she finally achieved her goal, and in her first attempt! Her story is a testament to the power of perseverance. What stood out most from her experience was the constant communication with the team: “Sometimes you feel like a statistic on such a long journey, but they never made me feel that way. It was all beautiful.” A process that was further complicated as Nicola lived in the Middle East for much of her treatment, but distance was never an obstacle.
Aurélie and Benjamin: from Paris to Madrid
Aurélie and Benjamin travelled from Paris with the hope of having a child together. Due to her age, 43, Aurélie no longer had any options in France, so they discovered Tambre, where “they were clear and realistic”. What could have been an obstacle was not: “The language wasn’t a barrier because both the doctor and the coordinator were bilingual,” Aurélie noted. The couple appreciated the human and professional approach they found at Tambre
Marta, Carlos, and the sound that changed their lives
A particularly moving story is that of Marta and Carlos. They were about to give up after undergoing unsuccessful treatments. At Tambre, they found what they had been hoping for. The couple highlights the small gesture that changed their lives. Having all the information and being able to talk to professionals during their treatment was vital and reassuring for them: “It gave us peace of mind to resolve any doubts we had during the process or to ask questions we hadn’t thought of during the consultation. It was very easy to clear up doubts with just a phone call”. Their fulfilled dream is named Mateo: “Hearing the ‘whoosh, whoosh, whoosh’ of the heartbeat during the first scan changes your life forever”, they told us.
Patient Meeting: dreams fulfilled
In 2024, we launched the Tambre Patient Meetings: dreams fulfilled. We were lucky enough to have Almudena and her baby Vega, who told us what motivated her to make that important decision. We also loved hearing why Hernán and Raquel, now the proud parents of Enzo, chose Tambre.
Almudena and Vega: an unconditional Love
A story of love and bravery is that of Almudena, a single mother by choice. She is now the proud mother of Vega, thanks to an IVF treatment. “I always knew I wanted to be a mother, and there came a point when it had to happen biologically, so I decided to take the step and become a mother on my own.” She did her research and joined the Single Mothers by Choice association. Thanks to the good experiences shared by other members, she was encouraged to visit the clinic and immediately knew Tambre was where her treatment would take place. “You don’t need any other love to find true love,” she said.
Virginia and Melinda, Sofia’s mums
Virginia and Melinda travelled from France with the desire to become mothers together. An emotional journey to motherhood through double egg donation. “We thought, why not a double donation? The clinic suggested it, and we decided to go for it. We didn’t know about this option, but it seemed like a beautiful possibility to become mothers, and here is Sofia.” Their story shows how love and the desire to become parents can overcome any barrier. “We knew that in Spain, the process is much quicker than in France,” they told us.
Natacha, mother of two girls via egg donation
Also from France, Natacha arrived looking for a clinic specialising in difficult cases. Her situation was particularly complicated: after two ectopic pregnancies, she lost both fallopian tubes, and her ovarian reserve was exhausted. “My egg donation treatment meant giving up having children with my own genetics, but love is much stronger than everything,” she says. She had her first daughter, and two years later, she repeated the experience: “Today, we are the proud parents of two wonderful girls, thanks to egg donation at Clínica Tambre”.
Jennifer Frahm, from the US in search of a dream
Expanding their family had always been Jennifer and her husband’s goal. After attempting a second pregnancy when their first child was two years old, they discovered they had fertility problems. After a failed IVF treatment at a US clinic in 2019, they decided to seek alternatives. Jennifer crossed a continent in search of her dream, and they found at Clínica Tambre the experience and resources they needed to achieve pregnancy. “When I arrived at Tambre, I immediately noticed that the entire team worked together and communicated very well, and from experience, I know that when people collaborate and communicate like that, it makes a huge difference“.
Monika, Luigi and the light of their lives: Soleil
Monika, 48, originally from Poland, and Luigi, 50, from Italy, had experienced 14 years of infertility and several failed treatments in different countries. “We had gone through an IVF in Italy, three egg donations in Italy, and one in Greece, but none of them worked,” they recount. Additionally, Monika had medical complications that further complicated the process. They decided to trust Tambre, where they found the warmth and professionalism they hadn’t experienced before. “Reading the reviews of other patients gave us the confidence to choose Tambre. They conveyed warmth and professionalism that we hadn’t found elsewhere.” Their story of hope and love culminated in the arrival of their baby Soleil.
Second Patient Meeting: The joy of creating a family
The second patient meeting at Clínica Tambre revealed new stories of overcoming challenges and unconditional love. Lorena is the proud mother of Eidan and shares: “I knew I wanted to be a mother since I was 30. Life led me to become one alone, but I knew I wasn’t alone in this process. I had heard great things about Tambre, and I didn’t hesitate.” Meanwhile, Begoña and Bruno had several failed attempts. At Tambre, they achieved their dream on the first try. They became pregnant, and two years later, they returned to Tambre and are now the proud parents of Sergio and Manuel.
Stories yet to be written
These stories are just a few of the many that unfold at Clínica Tambre, where hope becomes reality through a comprehensive, emotional, and human approach. We end 2024 with a smile. If you are considering starting fertility treatment, your story is yet to be written. If you are already in the process, these experiences prove that, with the right support, dreams can come true.
