Tambre Receives International Recognition for Excellence in Vitrification 2025

Tambre has once again been awarded the Best Practice in Vitrification Recognition by Kitazato—an international endorsement of excellence in vitrification, a key element in fertility treatments.

The quality and excellence of Tambre’s IVF laboratory have once again been recognised internationally. The clinic has received the Best Practice in Vitrification Recognition 2025 after surpassing international standards in the cryopreservation of eggs and embryos using Kitazato’s Cryotop® method.

This recognition is awarded to clinics that demonstrate exceptional results in their vitrification procedures, positioning Tambre as a benchmark in reproductive medicine for the quality, technical precision and clinical outcomes it offers to its patients.

Official Presentation in Madrid

This year, representatives from Kitazato travelled to Tambre’s headquarters in Madrid to present the award in person. The clinic’s Laboratory Director, Susana Cortés, and CEO, Inge Kormelink, received the award from Rafael Casado (Sales Director Spain & Portugal at KITAZATO-DIBIMED) and Manuel Jiménez (Business Development Manager).

“This recognition confirms that at Tambre, we are committed to a clear vision: to deliver scientific excellence without losing the human touch. Our embryology team is exceptional, and their commitment to continuous improvement enables us to keep achieving great things,” said Inge Kormelink.

The Strength of a Specialised Team

The award specifically recognises the work of Tambre’s embryology team, who apply the Cryotop® protocol with rigour and expertise, achieving extremely high cell survival rates following the vitrification of gametes and embryos. This technique is essential to many assisted reproduction treatments, such as fertility preservation, IVF cycles, and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT).

“We are extremely proud of this recognition. It reflects the meticulous and highly skilled work of our team, who have spent years perfecting our vitrification techniques,” added Susana Cortés, Director of Tambre’s laboratories.

Cryotop® Technology and Cryopreservation: A Cornerstone of Modern Reproductive Medicine

The Cryotop® vitrification method by Kitazato has revolutionised cryopreservation for both eggs and embryos, allowing their quality to be preserved with survival rates of up to 97% in young patients. This technique enables:

  • Fertility preservation in women who choose to postpone motherhood.
  • Optimisation of IVF treatments by freezing embryos not transferred in a fresh cycle.
  • Fertility protection in oncology patients prior to aggressive treatment.
  • Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) while preserving the embryo’s viability.

Fertility Preservation with Guarantees

Tambre has developed Tempo, a programme dedicated to female fertility preservation through egg vitrification. Thanks to its advanced protocols and the extensive experience gained over the years, Tambre has become one of the most respected centres for gamete freezing, both nationally and internationally.

Fundación Tambre: Advancing Scientific Excellence Through Training and Research

Through Fundación Tambre, the clinic promotes Tambre Lab, a practical training programme for embryologists who wish to gain real-world experience in Assisted Reproduction laboratories. Backed by professionals with nationally and internationally recognised qualifications, this initiative reinforces Tambre’s commitment to continuous education, research, and the ongoing improvement of clinical protocols.

Moreover, Tambre specialists actively participate in university teaching and international conferences, promoting the scientific knowledge that underpins the clinic’s 45+ years of experience.
