Every year on May 12th, we honour one of the most vital professions in healthcare: nursing. At Tambre Fertility Clinic, this day holds deep meaning. Beyond recognising clinical expertise and technical skill, we celebrate the human connection each nurse brings to a journey as intimate, emotional, and life-changing as is an assisted reproduction treatment.
At the heart of every story born at Tambre is a dedicated nursing team—a group of compassionate professionals who, with empathy, precision, and care, support every patient to feel unique, heard, and truly cared for.
They are: Marta, Maribel, Cristina, Sónia, Puri, Ania, Ana, Angélica, Soledad, Stephanie, Jackie, and Bianca.
A Role That Goes Far Beyond Care
In the field of reproductive medicine, the role of nurses has evolved into something essential and multifaceted. At Tambre, our nurses don’t just perform clinical tasks—they inform, coordinate, reassure, and accompany. They are bridges between science and emotion, providing clarity, comfort, and unwavering support.
As Marta Ruano, Head of Nursing at Tambre, explains:
“We are a fundamental pillar. From the first blood test to embryo transfer, we’re there. We coordinate with doctors, embryologists, and lab technicians—but above all, we’re with the patient, every step of the way.”
When Marta says “we are,” she means much more than physical presence. At Tambre, the nursing team builds relationships that transcend medical procedures. In each conversation, they translate complex information into human language, ease anxieties, and create a sense of safety and trust.
What does a fertility nurse do?
Working as a nurse in a fertility clinic like Tambre means embracing a dynamic, intense, and truly vocational role. Every day includes surgical planning, medication management, coordinating egg and sperm donation treatments, tracking results, and supporting patients through each phase of their journey.
“We’re involved in everything,” Marta shares. “From the first phone call to the final pregnancy test. We explain how to take medications, prepare for procedures, offer care post-retrieval, answer questions, and most importantly—we listen. Sometimes we’re the first face they see, and other times we’re the last hug before they leave with a smile and a positive beta result.”
Our nurses also contribute to research, attend fertility congresses, and engage in continuous training. Because in a field where science never stops evolving, they evolve too—committed to staying at the forefront of reproductive healthcare.
Experts in Clinical and Emotional Care
To speak with the Tambre nursing team is to enter a space where professional excellence and emotional intelligence go hand in hand. It’s not uncommon for patients to return years later—with children in tow—just to say thank you.
Marta recalls one of those moments:
“A former patient came back with her teenage son. She searched for me by name and said, ‘Do you remember me?’ It was so emotional. She told me she wanted to show her son where it all began. That kind of gesture says it all.”
Working with patients pursuing the dream of parenthood brings both joy and vulnerability. “Some stories really stay with you,” Marta admits. “There are moments of tears—of happiness, of heartbreak. That’s part of the commitment too.”
A Team That Sets the Standard
In 2025, Tambre continues to lead in advanced fertility treatment, both nationally and internationally. And this success wouldn’t be possible without our exceptional nurses. They are not just part of the process—they are the heart of it. The steady link between medical excellence and emotional care.
Marta, who has led the team for years, expresses her pride:
“I’m lucky to work with extraordinary professionals. Each one has years of experience and a deeply human approach. They make my job easier—and, above all, they make our patients feel safe, supported, and understood.”
Because There Is No Life Without Care
At Tambre, we know that every step on the journey to parenthood is supported by the caring hands of a nurse. While many professionals are involved in fertility treatment, few are as consistently present, emotionally invested, and essential as our nursing team.
So today, and every day, we thank the nurses who shape our patients’ experiences—not only with knowledge, but with kindness, empathy, and warmth.
To Marta, Maribel, Cristina, Sónia, Puri, Ania, Ana, Angélica, Soledad, Stephanie, Jackie, and Bianca:
Thank you for your dedication, compassion, strength, and heart.
Happy International Nurses’ Day. Your work leaves a lasting mark. Always.
