Paris is, this weekend, the European epicentre of reproductive medicine. It is hosting the congress of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), which brings together the world’s leading experts in reproductive medicine. This year, the 41st edition will be held from 29 June to 2 July, and as every year, Grupo Tambre will be present at discussions on embryology, genetics, ovarian stimulation, fertility preservation, and artificial intelligence applied to assisted reproduction. Not only to learn, but also to actively contribute with our own scientific work.
Why is ESHRE so important?
Because it is the place where the most cutting-edge knowledge in the world is gathered. For four intense days, professionals from over 130 countries share research, discuss new techniques, compare results, and establish standards that are later transferred into clinical practice. Reproductive medicine is a constantly evolving field. What is a hypothesis today could become tomorrow’s protocol. That’s why being present at ESHRE is a responsibility we embrace as a reference centre in both Madrid and Alicante. For us, as a fertility clinic in Madrid with nearly 50 years of experience, and now also as a fertility clinic in Alicante, newly opened in May 2025, attending this congress means staying aligned with what is considered cutting-edge reproductive medicine. It is also a way to reaffirm our commitment to scientific research applied to patient care.
What does ESHRE bring to our patients?
- More accurate diagnoses.
- More personalised and effective treatments.
- A clinical experience based on the latest scientific evidence.
A multidisciplinary team representing Grupo Tambre
In 2025, Grupo Tambre will travel to Paris to participate in ESHRE’s 41st edition with a team that fully reflects our way of understanding reproductive medicine. Representing Tambre will be Dr Abraham Zavala, Medical Coordinator at Tambre Alicante; Dr Ángela Llaneza, Scientific Director of Grupo Tambre; Leonor Ortega, Head of Laboratory at Alicante; and Carolina Andrés, Senior Embryologist with an outstanding track record. They will be joined by our CEO, Inge Kormelink, and Dr José Antonio Horcajadas, Scientific Advisor. Completing the team are our Expansion Directors, Inmaculada Olid and Katie Lawless, responsible for driving the group’s international growth.
Our scientific contribution in 2025: four studies with real impact
This year we are not only attending: we are also presenting four original research studies accepted by the ESHRE scientific committee, positioning us as a clinical centre that not only applies science but also produces it.
Below is a summary of the studies we are presenting this year:
Line of research | Key finding | Potential benefit |
---|---|---|
1. Sperm DNA fragmentation | Using advanced selection techniques, even samples with high fragmentation can produce viable, chromosomally normal embryos. | Greater reassurance for couples facing severe male factor infertility. |
2. Inner cell mass (ICM) positioning | Protecting the ICM after biopsy improves implantation rates. | Refinement of assisted hatching protocols in IVF with PGT-A. |
3. KIR phenotypes and unexplained infertility | A significant presence of specific immune profiles has been observed in women with implantation failure or recurrent miscarriage. | Personalised immunological therapies and reduced pregnancy loss. |
4. Trends in oocyte vitrification 2015–2023 | A decrease in the age of egg freezing, increased international demand, and a direct link between ovarian reserve and oocyte survival. | Earlier reproductive planning and comprehensive counselling. |
Alicante and Madrid: two fertility clinics, one shared excellence
Thanks to the group’s expansion in 2025, we now offer fertility treatments in two clinics with the same technical and human standards: Madrid, with its long-standing reputation, state-of-the-art equipment and international recognition. Alicante, with brand-new facilities, an advanced laboratory, and the same philosophy of close, personalised care that has always defined us. Both clinics share protocols, data and scientific vision.
